A Nutcracker Christmas Quilt
The inspiring fabric, which serves as the primary background for each quilt square.
I have never before made a quilt with so many small pieces! Baggies are a necessity when keeping track of the different sizes. Also, cutting fabric generally takes at least three more hours than I expect.
The accent colors for the stars and the border Swiss dots fabric.
One finished block! I ironed and re-ironed it many times, admiring the magic of math at work in the arts.
The cozy, snuggly snowmen (quite the contradiction in terms!) flannel for the back of the quilt. I believe all quilts should have some element of cozy snuggle to them!
Each accent color will make four stars and therefore four blocks. The blocks will be arranged in the pattern above. However, I will mix and match the stars once I get more completed! My heart has an innate desire to make most everything as colorful as possible! Only 28 blocks to go as of today, July 21st!
